Do you often see décor items that you love, such as scatter cushions, vases and rugs, that look fabulous in room setups in magazines, online or in stores, but somehow you just can’t mentally place them in your own home?
Superbalist, South Africa’s leading online fashion, beauty and homeware retailer, has come to the rescue, using Plascon’s ‘Bringing it Home’ 2023 colour palette adding the depth and colour you need to complete the room makeover of your dreams. The Plascon x Superbalist in-show shoppable apartment at Decorex Cape Town (22- 25 June, CTICC) and Decorex Joburg (3- 6 August, Sandton CC) enables visitors to physically put themselves in four different rooms and play around with Superbalist’s curated range of furniture, home decor and tabletop items s to come up with the décor look that perfectly suits their personal style. A dedicated QR code takes shoppers to a curated page where they can buy their favourite items from the rooms with one click.
Plascon’s carefully selected colour palette not only provides an inspiring backdrop for relaxed browsing, it also shows at a glance how the right paint colour choices can really pull a room together. The main colours in the shoppable apartment, Sun Kissed (Y3-A1-2), Bleached Baobab (Y2-C2-2), Baked Earth (O4-B1-1) and Blue Grace (B4-B2-1), are drawn from Plascon’s 2023 ‘Bringing it Home’ colour palette, a selection of soothing hues inspired by the natural landscapes of South Africa that bring warmth, hope and a celebration of nature to interior design directions. Accent colours featured in the apartment, also from the 2023 colour palette, include Safari Sun (O7-C1-1), Green Glass (81), Yellow Mystery (Y4-B2-1) and Red Flame (R7-A1-1).
The two iconic South African brands will also be running a competition as part of their ‘Bringing it Home’ shoppable apartment experience at both Decorex Cape Town and Decorex Joburg. Visitors to the shows can style the space their own way, snap a picture, and tag Plascon and Superbalist, for a chance to win all of the Superbalist furniture and decor products in that room, and one of your own rooms painted in a Plascon colour of your choice. One winner will be selected in Joburg and one in Cape Town.
‘We’re always looking for innovative ways to make the experience at Decorex one to remember,’ says Suvasin Moodley, head of decorative marketing at Plascon. ‘We hope that this exciting new stand will make the experience a more personal one, enabling them to take a hands-on approach to their design needs.’
‘We’re so proud to create a unique, interactive shopping experience that brings our online world of style into our physical world, and showcase Superbalist’s wide range of homeware offerings’ says Superbalist Chief Marketing Officer Zubair Noor.
The Plascon x Superbalist collaboration marks Plascon’s most recent involvement in Decorex, after nearly 30 years of longstanding support of the leading decor and design platform in South Africa.
