The Association of Schools of Construction of Southern Africa (ASOCSA) will be hosting the Third Construction Education Summit (CES24) on the 17 and 18 July 2024. The deliberations intend to address, among others, the state of the South Africa construction industry, the challenges, and appropriate responses. Given this, it is necessary to replicate the survey conducted in August 2021, the objectives being to garner your perceptions with respect to the:

  • Performance of the South African construction industry;
  • Challenges in terms of improving the performance, growth, and development of the South African construction industry, and
  • Interventions required in terms of improving the performance, growth, and development of the South African construction industry,

and hence the survey requesting selected individuals representing a broad range of construction industry stakeholders to participate.

Please note that ‘construction’ refers to the industry in its broadest terms, and includes all participants and processes involved in the delivery of the built environment.

There is no risk involved, and your responses will be completely confidential. Moreover, the results of the survey will be reported in a summary format, so that no person will be able to associate you with your responses to this survey.

Participation is strictly voluntary, and you may discontinue participation at any time.

To complete the survey online, including confirming your consent to participate in the survey, please email Professor John Smallwood at  coajjs@gmail.com or call him.

If you do decide to participate in the research, please endeavour to complete the questionnaire by 06 May 2024. Should you have any queries please do not hesitate to contact Prof John Smallwood at: 083 659 2492 or per e-mail: coajjs@gmail.com
