One-Day Summit: The Role of Quality Management in Construction Health & Safety

by Kim K

The Association of Construction Health and Safety Management (ACHASM) will host a one-day face-to-face summit aimed at tackling one of the construction industry’s most urgent issues: the scourge of structural and support work collapses.

Themed “The Role of Quality Management in Construction Health & Safety”, the summit recognises that anecdotal evidence and post-collapse investigations frequently point to weaknesses in quality management as a root cause of poor health and safety outcomes.

Topics and Themes

The programme will cover a broad range of pressing issues, including:

  • Competencies (core and surface) across professions
  • Health & Safety (H&S) and quality management throughout all six project stages
  • Economics of H&S and quality
  • Innovation in construction practices
  • Contributions from multiple stakeholders
  • Professionalism and accountability
  • Prevention through design principles
  • Registration and compliance
  • Strategies, systems, processes, and protocols
  • Structural safety in geotechnical and formwork design

This wide focus ensures relevance to architects, developers, construction managers, project managers, contractors, engineers, inspectors (municipal, NHBRC, DEL OH&S), interior designers, landscape architects, material manufacturers, plant providers, financiers, and quantity surveyors.
